Parking Lot Duty Strine/Mathews
Cole Johnston will be representing MHS at the Region 3 Band Festival at East Juniata HS today through Thursday. The concert will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Please wish Cole well as he will be auditioning for a spot in the All-State Band.
Regional chorus rehearsal is scheduled for Monday.
Valley Rural Electric is sponsoring the Rural Electric Youth Tour this summer. If you are interested in spending an all-expense-paid week in Washington DC learning more about the government, the cooperative way of doing business, and seeing the sights, see Mrs. McMullen by Monday, Feb. 27th.
Any 9th grader interested in Camp Cadet should come by the office for an application.
Don’t forget applications for the NHS and JNHS are due Friday, Feb. 24th.
Mr. Strine will be at Regional Band for the remainder of this week, all band lessons are on schedule.
County Chorus students who have not yet received their permission slips must obtain one from Mr. Strine before 1:00 today. They are due by Tuesday, Feb. 28th.
All New York forms and down payments are due to Mr. Strine by 1:00 today. If you cannot make this payment by that time you can give your form and payment to David Welsh until Friday afternoon. The trip will be considered closed to anyone else after Friday.
Items for the March calendar are due in the office by February 24th.
All senior chorus field trip forms for New York City are due to Mr. Strine today at 1:00.
Attention girl’s interested in Track and Field: There will be a mandatory meeting after school on Monday, Feb. 27th in Ms. Dunkle’s room (500). Don’t forget all physical forms must be turned in by the first day of practice, March 5th.
Congratulations to the girl’s varsity basketball team for their 5th place finish among District V “A” schools. The Lady Spartans will travel to Shankville Stony Creek HS. Good Luck Lady Spartans! We are proud of you!
Come and support your Lady Spartans! A pep bus will be going to the District V girl’s basketball first round of playoffs on Friday, Feb. 24th. The game starts at 7:00 pm at Shanksville. Cost of admission to the game will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. The bus will leave MHS at 5:00 p.m. If you are interested in riding the bus, please sign up with Mrs. Shearer in the front office and pick up a permission slip to give to the driver on Friday evening. No students will be permitted to ride without a permission slip. You may pay your $2 when you board the bus. MHS/MMS students and parents are welcome.
Attention Baseball Players: If you intend to play baseball for the varsity team or junior high baseball team, you need to sign up and complete a physical in the next two weeks. Varsity players can sign up outside Mr. Fowler’s room and junior high players need to sign up outside of Mrs. Crouse’s room. Any questions see Mr. Fowler.
Coach Heuston would like to invite any 9-12 grade girl interested in playing varsity softball to several open gyms prior to the start of the season. The first one will be held Friday, February 24th from 3:00 – 4:30 in the HS gym. Bring gloves and appropriate clothing for the use in the gym. All physicals must be turned in by seasons start in you intend to try out for the team on Monday March 5th.
There will be a short meeting after school in room 307 today for any man grades 9-12 interested in joining the Spartan Men’s Track team for the 2012 season.
Anyone still interested in Spartan or Spartan basketball apparel, order forms are in the front office. We will be collecting the final orders until Friday, February 24th.
