Hello Spartan Families and Visitors,

Welcome to McConnellsburg Elementary School!  We are very excited to begin the 2022-2023 school year.  We look forward to providing an exciting, energy-filled learning experience for children.

We welcome back over four hundred fifty students and our wonderful teaching and support staff.  We have experienced a few grade level staff changes for the new school year.  First, Mrs Denise Mellott has moved from second grade to fourth grade.   Mrs. Karen Peters has moved to our fifth grade teaching team from fourth grade.   Filling a long term substitute position in fourth grade is Miss Brittany Parson.   We also welcome Ms Thalia Simms as classroom aide.  And finally, Mrs Susie Fraker, Life Skills aide,  has moved to the Middle School.  We will miss her friendly face in our building.

We are so proud to be able to say that we continue to utilize electronic devices for all of our kindergarten through fifth grade students for online instructional experiences both in the classroom and from home, if necessary.  Our online platforms serve to complement our traditional learning resources and written curriculum, which is aligned to the PA Core.   Our teachers have spent many hours this summer writing and aligning curriculum to promote engaging and inspiring instruction in the classroom.

Our classroom and liberal arts teachers will continue to focus this year on STEM related activities while continuing to place an emphasis on grade level and individual learning expectations for mathematics and english language arts.   We expect to continue to expand experiences for our children in becoming proficient digital citizens, while maintaining our focus on our students becoming proficient readers, writers and thinkers in a continuously evolving world.

Our goal across the Central Fulton School District is to facilitate the growth of our students as collaborators, caring citizens, creators, contributors, communicators, and critical thinkers while remaining culturally aware and career minded.

We continue our emphasis on cultivating responsible decision makers in our student learners.  Our theme of the school year is to continue with our learning adventures while maintaining the principles of kindness and positive energy .  We continue to reward positive behavior with a school wide positive behavior program.  We offer our students the opportunity to earn daily, weekly, marking period and year end citizenship rewards.   We hope to set an example as energetic learners who are accepting, encouraging and kind school citizens!

We continue to monitor the local pandemic situation and follow the approved district safety plan, but we are finally able to, once again,  welcome visitors into our school.  We have resumed field trips and all special activities.

I look forward to a productive and successful year with ALL of our children.

Grab a seat on our Energy Bus!  We are excited for the ride!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child’s educational experience at McConnellsburg Elementary.

Go Spartans!!   💙🤍
